MAC and Hourglass makeup review!

So I got a couple of things over the weekend I wanted to share with you and review for you! First thing is MAC recently came out with an Eyebrow line which I was really excited about! I have always had really dark thick eyebrows that I was never really happy with, but now I really like my eyebrows....I am happy that I never waxed them too thin or too short or off completely(haha...no one would actually do that but you get where I am coming from!) because they are FINALLY the shape I want them to be Yay! Now enough about my eyebrows lets talk about this new MAC eyebrow powder! They came out with a few other things such as a eyebrow gel cream and pencils among other things. But I am a fan of the powder it looks more natural at least I think.

So this is the Brow Due in Brunette, I will admit when I was buying these I thought these colors didn't look like they are going to work for me. I like warmer colors and they seemed a bit on the gray side. I tried them on at the store and I liked them so I decided to go for it. The next day I shaped up my eyebrows and did my makeup and I was so happy with the way they looked! The color matched perfect! I mix them both together instead of using just one. My hair is very dark brown some people say it's black....It's not black it's brown, but these colors are perfect and match my eyebrows exactly!

The next thing I got was the Brow Finisher wax stick by MAC. I like to use wax when I do my eyebrows it seems to make them look better. This stick is really cool I am use to getting the wax at Sephora which you have to use a brush to apply. I liked it but this is so much better!

It screws up and down like a lipstick would and is the perfect size to just go on your eyebrow and not get on your skin. It is also nice because it doesn't leave your eyebrows feeling sticky and gross. I like to use the wax before I put the powder on it makes the powder stick better. I don't know if this is the right way to do it but it works for me. I find if something works for you when doing your makeup stick with it even if it's not the so called "right" way to do it!

The last MAC product I got was the Mineralize Volcanic Ash Exfoliator

This stuff is AWESOME! First of all it looks almost as if there is glitter in the bottle which I was immediately attracted to and then the box is also sparkly! But once you get past the glittery-ness (I don't think this is a word!) of this product it works great. It makes your face feel so good and clean. I like to try to exfoliate at least once a week and I haven't quite found one that I love until this one! I had read great reviews about this and it really lives up to the five star rating it gets!

The last thing I got was from Sephora, I have been looking for a primer for my face. I have never been interested in a primer but I know I should wear one. It really make your makeup stay on your face all day and look as if you just put it on. I always use an eyeshadow primer so I don't know why I was so against a face primer but who knows I am using one now! So on a whim in the checkout line at Sephora I saw this Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer + No. 28 Primer Serum Duo. It was in the little cubbies when you are waiting in line that just suck you in! I am not at all disappointed with this purchase though. I normally like to read reviews before I buy things but I like Hourglass products so I thought I would go for it!

So officialy LOVE this stuff! The primer I have been using everyday. It is a white cream and it just goes on so smoothly and evens out your skin color if there is any redness or discoloration. It makes your face feel so soft! A little goes a long way though, I learned that the first time using it. Also it almost feels powdery once your smooth it in, it is really neat. I put it all over my face but I focus on the areas of my face that the makeup seems to wear off the most during the day. After I put the primer on then I use the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup in color 3.5 which I really like! Moving onto the No. 28 Primer Serum...

I have been using the No. 28 Primer Serum if I have any dry spots on my face and is has smoothed them out by just using this for a few days. This stuff is nice especially for the winter because your skin can be a bit more dry then usual. I also have been putting this on my lips which has made them super soft! The serum though doesn't have a pump it is almost like a little stick that is inside the bottle that comes out when you unscrew the top.

I am really happy with this stuff it doesn't leave a sticky feeling it just smooths right into your face. When I finish this bottle as well as the primer I will be buying it again. The size of the primer and serum are small almost like a travel size but you only use a little so they will last for a while, and they are a nice size if you are trying it for the first time and don't want to commit to a full size bottle.

That is it for the my BEAUTY review! Tomorrow I'll let you know how my running/diet is going and review my VERY, VERY early birthday present from my Grandma which was incredibly nice and generous of her to get for me. I am SUPER excited about it!

January Ipsy Glam Bag!!!

So my January Ipsy Glam Bag finally came today! This was my first Ipsy bag I had been getting Birchboxes for the past year or so and I needed a change and nothing against Birchbox but they should take a lesson from the people at Ipsy! This bag was full of great things that were a very decent size and things that I will actually use and buy that won't cost me a fortune! Also they come with a nice makeup bag each month instead of a cardboard box that I normally just threw away or woud leave lying around my room for months!

This is how my Ipsy bag arrived in the mail...Even before opening it I was already in LOVE! This packaging not only was pink but it was also shiny! I was pretty impressed with this package!

I finally got over the packaging and this is what I found inside a cute little navy makeup bag full of goodies and a great concealer brush!

The first thing I pulled out of the bag was this nude polish called Frappe by nailtini I have heard great things about this nail polish so I am very excited to try it. I also love the nude color I don't typically buy nude nail polish but when I do I remember how much I love it! So I can't wait to try this one! Also this is a full size nail polish which was another bonus because this retails for $13 which already covers the cost of the $10 a month Ipsy bag!

Next is thJosie Maran 100% pure Argan Oil, this stuff is suppose to be awesome, you can use it on your hair, nails or skin! I haven't tried it yet but I am so excited to. All the reviews for this are five star so, I am sure I am going to love it!

The third item I pulled out of the bag was the Big Sexy Hair Spray & Play Volumizing Hairspray! I already have a full size bottle of this but this one is great for traveling. It is 1.5 oz. so it is safe to bring on a plane and is an essential when setting your hair for an updo or just adding some volume when your hair is looking a little flat! I love this stuff and I am so glad I have a small one I can easily take anywhere with me!

The next thing was this great Pacifica Blood Orange Body Butter. I have heard really great things about  this body butter, I am always looking for good lotions and I was eager to try this one. I will admit the smell of it is very strong and I am normally not a fan of the smell of oranges but this one reminds me of tropical punch. I tried it on my hands and I really liked it, it didn't leave a greasy feeling like some lotions do so that was a plus. This will definitely be a staple in my purse!

The last thing that was not in the makeup bag but was in the awesome pink package was the London SOHO New York Concealer Brush this retails for $7.99. I love getting new brushes and this one is really great. It is super soft and and the way the handle is designed it is easy to hold. Good brushes are essential when it comes to your making up looking good and I would recommend this brush and this company!

Lastly I wanted to show you the inside of the makeup bag that came with everything in it! I love the stars it is a nice touch to the navy bag! This bag is the perfect size as well to put things in and throw in your purse. I am so looking forward to getting a new makeup bag each month. All in all I was completely satisfied with the January Ipsy Glam Bag and I am so glad I switched from Birchbox to Ipsy!

Day Two and Three.....Didn't go so well!

So I started day two off of the cleanse really well I had my plain baked potato. I scrapped the inside of the potato out and threw the skin away I am not a huge fan of that. Finished eating that and off I went to work but I was still kind of hungry and a baked potato in the morning with nothing on it is really not very good. It tasted really gross actually!  Here is a picture of this lovely meal, nice and bland just the way I like it!

Looks delicious huh!

Next was lunch which I put off as long as possible because the thought of eating plain vegetables again really wasn't sitting well with me. I had roasted carrots, asparagus, green beans, mushrooms and peppers for lunch, it sounded delicious since all those vegetables roasted with spice and olive oil would be great, it wasn't so great. I ate about half of them had a bunch of water and decided I would just stick it out until dinner where I would eat more vegetables.

Looks good but didn't taste so good!

Lastly was dinner now at this point I was seriously craving a cookie, like REALLY bad! I had gone to the grocery store and picked up some more fruit for day three and some more vegetables (the ones you can microwave and steam cook) so I had those and I just couldn't eat them so I had a cookie......

My delicious corn, green beans, peas and carrots.

Now this was my own fault because I had made a delicious batch of chocolate chip cookies with toffee pieces a few days before I started the cleanse and there were some left over that were just calling my name on day two. I mean how can you pass that up! So I ate the cookie felt like a failure drank a ton of water and decided I wasn't eating anything else and I would get back on track tomorrow!

Day three of the cleanse.........

Started off pretty good again I had a smoothie made of raspberries, strawberries, blackberries and blueberries, with ice and water. It was very......tart.

Drank this through out the morning and then by lunch I was starving again, I then decided this is not really working for me. I had some chicken noodle soup for lunch and then for dinner I had a small salad  with dressing on the side.

I think I am finished with this cleanse today (day four) I am suppose to eat bananas and milk, I just don't see that happening. I have already lost three pounds which I don't really need to lose but I would still like to lose three more. I am using the my fitness pal ap on my iphone and I will try to lose the remaining three pounds that way. I just need to be more sensible about what I eat because I know it will  make me feel better!

Half marathon training starts on Tuesday! I can't wait until then I will continue running my couple miles everyday. I am so excited to start that training though!

And lastly a picture of my little girl sleeping!

Where do I begin...

So this is my first blog...I have wanted to start this for a while but never knew how to do it, or really had the time so I am starting NOW! I have decided in 2013 I am going to do all the things I have wanted to do but have either been too afraid or too lazy to do, starting with this blog!

As you can see from the name I am going to be talking mostly about my three favorite things Make Up, Cupcakes and Running as well as some other things here and there oh and I am sure there will be way too many pictures of my sweet Bella!

This little face melts my heart!

I am going to start off with RUNNING as the main topic for my very first blog! As some of you may know I signed up for the runDisney DisneyLand Half Marathon yesterday and I am BEYOND EXCITED! I need to do some serious training but I am up for the challenge! But to start this off I have decided to do a 7 Day cleanse! It is called GM's 7 day cleanse....I found it on Pinterest, of course so I am not sure how good it actually is for you but it is only for 7 days so let see how it goes.......

Today Day 1 of the 7 day cleanse

I am eating only fruit today oh and water lots of fruit and lots of water.....it is now almost 6 o'clock and I am pretty hungry! You can eat as much fruit as you want but only fruit plain fruit. For dinner I will be having a mango, strawberry, and kiwi fruit salad which sounds pretty good but I do really want some real food already! AH Day 1 and I want an actual meal! This could be bad only 6 days left! Tomorrow I will start the day with a dry baked potato and then all te vegetables I want! Bring it on! I will post some pictures of the delicious fruit I ate today!

I am hoping this cleanse is going to kick start me into eating a bit healthier which will help with my training! This cleanse does mean though there will be no cupcake post for at least a week :(

This was my "smoothie" this morning it consisted of water ice and frozen strawberries, mangos and pineapples! YUM!

My Lunch consisted of some cherries, a clementine, an apple, a peach and I think that might have been it. I think that might have been it.

And this was my dinner...The Mango was delicious but the strawberries and kiwi were a bit tart

That is it for today.... starting tomorrow off with a baked potato which is in the oven now cooking then moving onto roasted vegetables for the rest of the day! Can't wait! I will let you know how it goes with more pictures to come!
